Who we are
Societas Insurance Brokers sells SOCIPET pet insurance in Kuwait and runs this website.

Your policy is underwritten by ILAF Takaful Insurance Company. Claims are handled and settled by Exalgia International Loss Adjusting Co. Treatment covered by a policy takes place at a veterinary clinic or hospital approved by the insurer; the approved clinics and hospitals are listed on the Approved clinics page of this website, and that list can be updated from time to time.
Those companies receive the information they need to issue your policy and to settle a claim, and nothing more.
What we collect, and when
When you write to us. The contact form asks for your name, your phone number, your email address and your message. We use them to answer you.
When you buy a policy. We ask for the policyholder's full name, Civil ID number, mobile number and email address, together with the plan chosen and the number of cat and dog places on the policy. You may also tell us your governorate and how you heard about us — both optional.
We do not ask for your pet's name, breed or age when you buy a policy. The clinic records your pet's microchip number, breed and approximate age at their first visit — see "When your pet is treated" below.
While you are choosing. Before you reach checkout, the plan and the number of places in your cart are kept only in your own browser's storage, on your device. Until then, all that reaches us is a count when a cart first holds a place, never what is in it.
When your pet is treated. The clinic records each visit, and the vet notes the type, cause and timing of any injury. A claim carries the clinic's and the vet's details, the dates, what was treated, the invoice, and any photographs or reports the clinic attaches. It also carries your pet's microchip number, breed and approximate age, recorded at their first visit — this is how the clinic identifies which animal on your policy is being treated. The clinic sends it; you do not have to.
Automatically. Our servers keep short technical logs — the address a request came from, what was asked for and when — to keep the site working and to stop abuse. If you arrive from an advert, we record which one, so we can see which adverts work. When you buy, we also record whether you used a phone or a computer.
Why we use it
To answer your messages. To issue, renew and administer your policy. To pay the clinic for covered treatment. To meet what the insurer, the regulator and Kuwaiti law require of us. And to keep this site secure.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use it for advertising.
We will only send you marketing messages if you have agreed to receive them, and you can tell us to stop at any time.
Your Civil ID number
Your Civil ID number is your policy number. It is how the clinic identifies you at reception without you needing to carry anything.
We treat it as confidential. It is shared only with ILAF Takaful, Exalgia and the approved veterinary clinic or hospital, for the purposes described above. It is never displayed publicly and never used for anything else.
Payment
Payments are taken on Bookeey's own hosted payment page. You type your card details on Bookeey's page, never on ours: we do not see, receive or store a card number. What comes back to us is whether the payment succeeded and a reference for it.
Keeping bots out
The forms on this site are protected by Cloudflare Turnstile, which checks that a form was filled in by a person rather than a script. Cloudflare receives the technical data it needs for that check and no form content.
Measuring visits
We keep anonymous counts of visits, carts, started checkouts and use of the chat window on this site, with no cookie and nothing that could identify you.
We also use Google Analytics to count visits and to see which pages are read. It runs only once we have switched it on with a measurement ID; until then, Google counts nothing.
When it runs, Google Analytics places a cookie in your browser and reports to Google which pages were opened and when, the kind of device and browser used, and a rough location. It does not tell us your name, and we do not join it to anything you type into a form or to a policy. Google may process that data on its own servers outside Kuwait. You can block it with your browser's settings or with Google's opt-out add-on.
Where it is kept
Your information is stored on Google Cloud (Firebase), in a single region chosen for this service, and our email passes through the company's mail provider. Both are bound to keep it confidential and to use it only to run the service for us. Any other service provider that processes your information does so only on our behalf, and under the same confidentiality.
How long we keep it
- Messages sent through the contact form: two years.
- Policy and claim records: as long as the insurer and Kuwaiti law require, and in any case for the life of the policy and five years after it ends.
- Technical logs: a short period, measured in weeks.
Your choices
Write to info@societaskw.com, or use the contact form on this site, and you can ask us for a copy of what we hold about you, ask us to correct anything that is wrong, ask us to delete anything we are not required to keep, or ask us to stop emailing you about anything other than a policy you hold. We answer within 30 days.
Some information we are required to keep by law even if you ask us to delete it — records of a policy we have arranged, for example. Where that applies we will explain it to you.
Changes to this page
If we change how we handle your information, we update this page and the date above changes with it. If the change is significant we will tell policyholders by email.
Complaints
If you are unhappy with how we have handled your information, email info@societaskw.com. We will come back to you within two working days.
If you are not satisfied with our response, you may raise the matter with the Insurance Regulatory Unit of the State of Kuwait.
Language
This privacy policy is published in English and Arabic. If the two versions differ, the English version applies.
